What You Will Do
As a Quality Inspector, you will work within a close-knit team of five inspectors in a dynamic industrial setting. Your core daily responsibilities will include:
- Part Inspection: Performing diversified first-article and final inspections on aerospace, commercial, mechanical, and electro-mechanical parts.
- Blueprint Reading: Utilizing complex engineering drawings, process specifications, and customer documents to verify product conformity.
- Precision Measurement: Operating optical and video comparators, surface plates, height gages, micrometers, and calipers.
- Quality Assurance: Evaluating raw materials and final deliverable units for geometric tolerance, thread accuracy, and true positioning.
What You Need to Succeed
Aerotek is looking for a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and brings strong technical expertise to the shop floor. To qualify, you must have:
- Experience: 3 to 5+ years of quality inspection experience in a mass production or job shop manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Deep proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Tool Familiarity: Hands-on experience with plug and ring thread gages, pin gages, and basic calibration methods.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with AMS & MIL standards is highly advantageous (CMM experience is a great bonus).
- Work Requirements: The ability to stand and sit throughout the shift, wearing mandatory steel-toed shoes in a manufacturing environment.
