What You Will Do

As the Assistant Store Manager, you will partner directly with the Store Manager to ensure the store runs smoothly, safely, and profitably. Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Sales Leadership: Meeting and exceeding personal and store-wide sales goals while delivering a fun, full-service experience to every customer.
• Team Development: Assisting with the recruiting, hiring, and training of high-caliber retail staff to build a successful sales floor.
• Daily Operations: Supervising all aspects of store operations in the absence of the Store Manager, including loss prevention, bank deposits, and enforcing company policies.
• Customer Resolution: Effectively handling and resolving customer issues to ensure complete satisfaction.

What You Need to Succeed

Journeys is looking for highly motivated individuals with an “Attitude That Cares” and a strong willingness to learn. To qualify, you must possess:

• Experience: 6 to 12 months of retail sales experience (prior retail management experience is highly preferred).
• Age & Schedule: You must be at least 18 years of age and able to work 45 hours per week, including night and weekend shifts.
• Physical Requirements: The ability to stand for long periods, climb, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds on the sales floor.
• Core Skills: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, paired with a strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
