What You Will Do

As the Restaurant Manager (Manager on Duty), you will work closely with the General Manager to optimize profits and ensure ultimate guest satisfaction. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Team Leadership: Developing, scheduling, evaluating, and directing the restaurant staff, while conducting on-the-job training to build an elite team.
  • Daily Operations: Managing inventory, daily ordering, and cost control systems to maximize sales and minimize waste (including participating in food donation programs).
  • Guest Experience: Remaining active and present on the restaurant floor to ensure high food, beverage, and service quality.
  • Facility Maintenance: Monitoring and maintaining all restaurant equipment, scheduling routine repairs, and ensuring strict food safety standards are met.

What You Need to Succeed

SF Foodways is looking for a proactive self-starter who can make quick decisions and manage a team with minimal supervision. To qualify, you must possess:

  • Experience: Proven restaurant, bar, or beverage management experience (previous work as a server, bartender, or in a kitchen is highly valued).
  • Core Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong project management abilities, and effective time management.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competence in using the Microsoft Office Suite and entering data accurately.
  • Work Requirements: The ability to stand/walk for up to 80% of your 45-50 hour work week (including weekends and holidays), and you must pass a criminal history background check to work at SFO.
