What You Will Do

As the Nursing Supervisor, you will provide administrative direction while actively participating in patient care. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Clinic Management: Supervising daily clinical activities, managing staff schedules, and ensuring efficient operations across both the Livingston and Demopolis clinics.
  • Direct Patient Care: Providing high-quality medical treatment to the highest degree of your licensure and assisting physicians and nurse practitioners.
  • Staff Leadership: Facilitating the onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of clinic staff (nurses, medical assistants, scribes) to build a strong team culture.
  • Academic Support: Partnering with clinic medical directors to ensure a successful clinical experience for medical students, residents, and other learners.

What You Need to Succeed

The University of Alabama is looking for a reliable, diplomatic leader with strong clinical expertise. To qualify, you must possess:

  • Education & Experience Option 1: A Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of LPN or RN experience, including at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Education & Experience Option 2: An Associate’s degree and six (6) years of LPN or RN experience, including at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, accurate data entry skills, and excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Core Competencies: The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced ambulatory care environment, exercise utmost discretion with HIPAA regulations, and maintain a punctual, professional demeanor.
