What You Will Do
In this role, you will step away from traditional daily bookkeeping and dive into investigative accounting. You will primarily work with commercial property insurers to evaluate financial losses caused by catastrophic events or business interruptions. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Investigating Financial Claims: Reviewing historical financial data, projecting revenue and expenses, and evaluating economic damages.
- Fraud & Forensic Examination: Providing expert analysis for insurers and attorneys regarding fraud services, litigation support, and dispute resolution.
- Team Leadership: Supervising, training, and developing junior staff while managing multiple concurrent assignments.
- Business Development: Networking and building strong industry contacts to help grow the firm’s investigative practice.
What You Need to Succeed
Meaden & Moore is looking for naturally outgoing, self-motivated individuals who enjoy facing a wide variety of daily challenges. To qualify for this role, you should have:
- Professional Experience: 5+ years of experience in accounting (public accounting experience is highly preferred).
- Education: A Bachelor’s or advanced degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
- Certifications: A CPA license is highly preferred, though not strictly required if you have the right investigative experience.
- Technical Skills: Deep proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel overnight as needed (approximately 20% of the time).
